Prevent Acne
A lot of teens have acne problems - these often go away as the teen grows older but the emotional and physical effects of acne often take a much longer time to heal and go away. That is why it is good to prevent acne before it can damage the teen's face and self-esteem.
Contrary to the popular belief that acne is caused by dust, dirt, peanuts, and chocolate, it is actually caused by the body's overactive sweat glands that become clogged with dead skin, oil, and bacteria. Acne tips such as the following can help prevent outbreaks.
Stay Clean
To prevent acne, one must clean one's skin, especially the face, once in the morning and once in the evening. This is essential to remove dead skin and bacteria that accumulated during the day. It is also good to wash one's skin after exercise to remove accumulated oil and sweat. However, in the getting rid of acne by washing, some teens overdo it and wash too many times a day that the skin becomes irritated and acne worsens.
Washing also helps prevent pimples.
Skin Products
To prevent acne, one must always try to use products that are mild and hypoallergenic or nonacnegenic/noncomedogenic. That is to ensure the pores don't clogged and irritated. There are many products that can clog pores and cause irritation - one can still use them but in moderation and care that the product does not stay on the skin longer than necessary.
Some hair products are laden with oil. To prevent acne, it is also necessary to keep hair products, especially styling gels, from coming in contact with the face and acne-prone areas.
Eat Healthy
One of the healthiest ways to prevent acne is to keep one's diet healthy and rich in vegetables. A lot of vegetables are antioxidants that can help reduce acne.
One cannot prevent acne by not eating fatty foods but minimizing these can be beneficial.
Medications
When all else fail, one can prevent acne by consulting a doctor/dermatologist who can prescribe medication for the acne. Not only can this prevent but it can also cure acne. However, one must finish the entire course of the medication to prevent future outbreaks and to get the most out of the medication.
